Forty Essential Jazz Solos
This is a really fascinating survey. Evan Haga asked a number of musicians to pick their favorite solos and give the reasons why. My man Dave Liebman came through with John Coltrane’s Crescentand Linda Oh astutely singled out Oliver Nelson’s tenor solo on Stolen Moments, from his album Blues And The Abstract Truth.
